Sonya Mounts

Faith. Family. Intentional Living.

Relationship coach, Bible study leader, maker, and homesteader. Helping women build thriving marriages, deepen their faith, and live with purpose in every season.

About Sonya

Wife · Mother · Coach · Leader

Sonya lives in Spokane, Washington, with her husband Jason and their family. What began as a personal journey to transform her own marriage has grown into a calling to help other women find the same peace, connection, and joy she once thought was out of reach.

As a certified Laura Doyle Relationship Coach, a Bible Study Fellowship Teaching Leader, and a passionate maker and homesteader, Sonya brings warmth and authenticity to everything she does. Her life is a reflection of the belief that real transformation starts from the inside out — in our closest relationships, in our walk with God, and in the way we care for our homes and communities.

Relationship Coaching

Laura Doyle Certified Coach

“Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.” Proverbs 21:9

Sonya knows what it feels like to be the quarrelsome wife in that verse — and she knows the road from there to contentment. After years of loneliness and frustration in her own marriage, she discovered the Six Intimacy Skills through Laura Doyle’s work and experienced a transformation she never thought possible.

Her husband didn’t change first. She did. And as she practiced receiving gracefully, relinquishing control, and expressing gratitude, everything shifted. The connection she had longed for was there all along — she just needed the skills to unlock it.

Today, Sonya coaches women around the world as a Senior Laura Doyle Relationship Coach, helping them ditch the control, find their own happiness, and watch their relationships come back to life.

Faith & Leadership

BSF Teaching Leader

Sonya’s faith is the foundation of everything else. As a Teaching Leader with Bible Study Fellowship, she leads women through deep, verse-by-verse study of Scripture — creating space for honest questions, real growth, and lasting community.

BSF is one of the largest interdenominational Bible studies in the world, and Sonya is honored to serve in a teaching role that challenges her to go deeper every week. For her, studying the Word isn’t an obligation — it’s the wellspring that feeds her marriage, her motherhood, and her purpose.

Her heart is simple: to help women see themselves the way God sees them, and to live from that place of belovedness in every relationship.

The Maker Life

Handmade · Homegrown · From Scratch

When Sonya isn’t coaching or studying Scripture, you’ll find her with her hands in something — tending the bees, pulling a fresh loaf of bread from the oven (ground from whole wheat berries, of course), or crafting a new batch of handmade soap under her brand, Sagewood Soap.

Her soaps are made with the same intentionality she brings to everything — natural ingredients, simple recipes, and a love for the process. Her backyard chickens keep the family in eggs, her copper wire jewelry is shaped by hand, and her homestead in Spokane is proof that a beautiful, intentional life doesn’t have to be complicated — just purposeful.

Sourdough School

Hands-On Bread Baking · From Starter to Loaf

Sonya teaches small, hands-on sourdough bread classes right from her homestead in Spokane. Each class begins with mixing up dough together, then breaking for a homemade sourdough waffle breakfast with berries and whipped cream while the bread does its slow work. Between stretches and folds, there’s time for tea, conversation, and even a hike on the private trails around the property.

You’ll leave with two loaves of dough ready to bake at home, your own sourdough starter, and the confidence to keep baking long after class ends. Sourdough is a “slow food” — and Sonya’s classes reflect that same unhurried, intentional spirit.
